Calibre is one of the best options as regards the e-book management software. It was created by readers and for readers and offers a wide range of functions and options divided into categories for the reader’s comfort.

Calibre enables us to create and develop a complex but at the same time easy to use database in which a single entry may correspond to e-books in various formats, and allows us to sort them according to their title, author, date of publication, size, etc. Also, any entry may be equipped with tags and comments, and we can add notes to our collections on a regular basis. The search is performed by means of a comfortable and versatile tool allowing for a quick and short search as well as for creating some more complex search keys. Finally, Calibre automatically downloads data about e-books in order to ensure the database has got current information.

The program can also convert e-books between formats used by the popular readers. The process of listing all formats would take too long so we will only say there are plenty of them. We can additionally specify what the text should look like in the converted file (for instance font).

But what would a book management tool be if it didn’t offer the possibility of uploading them to a reader? Calibre enables us to synchronize the content of the database to a library and use it further on the reader. And there is also an obvious inbuilt tool for viewing e-books on computer.
